When life was just perfect

It was the best day of our lives when Jayne was born, she was just perfect, we had longed for a little girl, we called her plain Jayne, Oh boy! were we wrong. She was a little live wire, right from the start we knew we had something special. From that very first moment she was a handful, Jayne loved to dance and she never sat still for a second, everyone was run ragged with her boundless energy. She was a little girl that didn't like to be left, so when granpa Gillies came to collect her, she screamed the whole way down the road, when i would call to collect her she'd scream all the way home. She was a bundle of laughter and tears, an endless entertainer, a right little madam. She just loved to dress up for any occasion going to parties or halloween. We would make her costumes, together we sewed and stuck things together. It continued through out her life. It developed into going to concerts which she absolutely loved! Every sunday i would look through the magazine and we would plan the next adventure, whether it be the theatre or just shopping trips, meals out we had a ball! Right from the start she was daddies little princess, off she would go and spend ages out tending the pigeons with him and she would have a name for them all. If she wanted lifted and laid she only had to flutter those eylashes and off he would trot. Then along came Mark and our little family was complete, Jayne idolised her wee brother (she also bossed him around) They were inseperable, he also got the bug for concerts and dressing up. I can honestly say we had 2 wonderful happy kids, we wouldn't have swopped them for the world! Chalk & cheese is the expression most folk use and that was definitely our 2, Mark was the quiet one and Jayne...! well anyone that knew her, never had a dull moment. Stuart came on the scene, she used to come home from uni and tell me about the wonderful tutor! I've met the man off my dreams! it didn't take Jayne long to turn his quiet life on it's head, she had him out painting the town red! at every occasion. Then came Jayne's 21st well if that wasn't the ideal occasion to get dressed up, we had a mascarade ball! Oh! what a night..!it was fab!!! more feathers, glitter, sticky stuff we were in our eliment. Everyone came along and joined in the fun, she was delighted, even her dad had a mask and that was an exception! again anything for his little girl. She was such a hard worker no matter what she decided to do, she gave it all 110%. She excelled at cooking, baking, sewing anything that she turned her hand too. This paid off as she graduated in Pharmacy in June. We were the proudest parents! and her grans were just chuffed to bits. Her job in Stirling Royal was just perfect, as she moved into a lovely flat with Stuart, to be beside his work. She made the curtains and gave it the Jayne factor! They had such a lovely life ahead of them, secretly we had all the wedding plans made, (Stuart was just a bit slow on the proposal front..!) I used to torment him that i had the biggest hat and he would tell me "it will go out of fashion". I knew that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. They went on holiday to Norway before she started work, they were up climbing the glaziers, hillwalking and kyaking up the fjords, they both had a great time. Unfortunately life was going along too smoothly and wham! we've all been left devastated. Jayne's tragic untimely death has left us all shattered to the core. Jayne was taken far too soon, she had alot more living to do, she never had time to say goodbye. She would have hated leaving everyone she loved behind. I hope that everyone that visits this memorial for Jayne, knows that without you Jayne would not have had the most wonderful journey and you all played a big part! and we just want to thank you all dearly for being there for her. Our lives will never be the same ,it is all too quiet without our bubbly beautiful daughter, and Mark's wonderful sister. We cant believe how life can change so quickly, we have enjoyed every precious moment that we had of our life with Jayne, and our only regret is that she wont be around to have many more. I could go on forever telling you wonderful stories. I hope that you will add your own stories for us to read and give you some comfort to know that she cared about you all. thank you Ailsa x
