mum 29th May 2011

Well Jayne we did it on friday night at 8.30 but guess what? it was a damp squib! Only in Scotland can you plan something & the weather lets you down. 30 friends & family turned up, we were all prepared with the lanterns & lighters. It was so wet & windy we couldn't get them to light let alone fly, it was so funny though as uncle Graham was first to get his lite only he didn't realise that it had ripped so he was try to get it to fill & it just flopped. Then we tried to use his lit wax & nearly set everyones lanterns on fire because of the wind. I had in my mind this lovely vision of 16 colourful lanterns all going off at the one time & then watching them float of in a sea of colour to celebrate your 25th Birthday, instead we had only 1 that managed to go by your dancing buddies, i'm sure you would appreciate the thought though & you would have been the one laughing your head of at us idiots all up there getting soaked. We toasted you with champagne & everyone came back for tea or drinks, sandwiches & cakes. We had a lovely night and it does my heart good to see that you were loved & missed by everyone. The grave is covered in beautiful flowers, we really appreciate them & cannot thank everybody enough for there kind wishes. I hope that you would approve of everthing that I do. It gives me great comfort looking for special things for you. Well darling onto my next project my charity night in November now, gonna make it a japanese theme this year already found beautiful little lanterns for the tables, i'm sure i'll find lots of other decorations. Goodnight Poppet love & miss you darling x
